Privacy Policy
WhyWrong is used by children, so we collect as little as we can and the parent stays in control.
Who we are
WhyWrong runs WhyWrong. The parent or guardian who creates the account is our customer and decides what happens to their child's data. Schools using Clever are covered by their own agreement with us.
What we collect
- Parent: email address, sign-in details, subscription status (payment details stay with PayPal — we never see your card number).
- Child: first name or nickname, grade, interests you choose, a PIN.
- Learning: answers, the wrong rules we detect, progress on each skill, session times.
- Homework and working photos, and drawings on the scratchpad.
- Voice: when Pip listens, speech is turned into text to reply. We do not keep audio recordings.
Why we use it
Only to tutor your child, show you what they're stuck on, and run your account. No advertising. We never sell or rent data, and we never use a child's data to build profiles for anyone else.
How long we keep it
- Homework and working photos: deleted automatically after 30 days.
- Learning history: kept while your account is open so the tutor remembers your child.
- Everything: deleted when you use "Delete everything" in Parent settings, or within 30 days of you asking us.
Who else handles it
We use trusted providers to run the service: cloud hosting and database, AI models that read answers and photos, PayPal for payments, and Clever for school sign-in. They process data only on our instructions.
Children's privacy
Children cannot sign up themselves. A parent or guardian creates the account and gives consent. A parent can see, download or delete their child's information at any time — email whywronghelp@gmail.com.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, or delete your data, or object to how we use it. See also our plain-language summary for parents and cookie notice.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll email the parent account before it takes effect.
